Steam bending

The process of steam-bending wood and manipulating it into a new form is an ecological and low energy method, eliminating the need to laminate with unpleasant glues or create extra cutting waste. This is why we chose steam bending as our main process and why all our products have steam bending at the heart of their design. It has such a low environmental and minimal wastage that you can't help but admire the process.

We believe our products are both highly functional and honest. They are designed to have the least amount of impact on the environment and the majority of the timber we source comes from local Suffolk woodlands. All of our wood is FSC certified, which means the forests are responsibly managed for people and wildlife. We burn any timber offcuts to heat our home in the winter months.

If you would like to find out more about the steam bending process, we have written a blog about our experiences here.
